SAMVIK Research Solutions started as a research guidance company. Today, we are becoming something larger — a ResearchTech company. And the first proof of that shift is live, free, and ready to use right now: SAMVIK AI TopicGen.

This is not a roadmap announcement. TopicGen is a working AI research topic generator that any scholar can use today, with no login and no cost. It is the first product in SAMVIK's broader move into ResearchTech — applying AI directly to the research process itself, not just to the services built around it.

What Is ResearchTech?

ResearchTech is the application of technology and artificial intelligence to simplify, accelerate, and improve the research lifecycle — from topic selection and literature review through to data analysis, publication, and academic collaboration.

It is a distinct category from EdTech. The two solve fundamentally different problems, and very few companies in India are building specifically for the second one. This is the specific space SAMVIK is now building in.

Why SAMVIK Is Moving Into ResearchTech

For years, SAMVIK worked closely with PhD scholars across India on thesis writing, journal selection, and publication support. That work surfaced one question more than any other, asked by researchers across every discipline: "What should I actually research?"

This is a deliberate shift for SAMVIK. We are no longer just a guidance service that happens to use some technology. We are becoming a technology company that builds AI tools purpose-built for the research process — starting with the moment a research journey begins.

SAMVIK AI TopicGen Is Live Right Now

AI TopicGen addresses the single most paralysing moment in any research journey: finding a topic.

Most scholars either spend weeks manually scanning literature trying to spot a gap, or settle for a topic too broad to defend in front of a doctoral committee. AI TopicGen changes that timeline from weeks to minutes.

Using TopicGen, a scholar can generate the latest research topics relevant to their specific field, surface research gap ideas grounded in current literature trends, assess the significance of a potential topic before committing months of work to it, and develop proposal-ready concepts specific enough to defend immediately — including ahead of a DRC or RDC presentation.

Strong Early Response in Beta

AI TopicGen has been in beta for one month — and in that time, more than 150 researchers have already used it to generate topics, explore research gaps, and shape early-stage proposals.

This is early, but it tells us something important: the demand for a research-specific AI tool, built for how Indian scholars actually work, was real and immediate the moment it became available. We are building the rest of our ResearchTech roadmap on that signal.

Most AI research tools available today are built for Western academic systems with Western publishing infrastructure in mind. They have no understanding of UGC regulations, Shodhganga, NAAC documentation requirements, or what changed for Indian scholars after the UGC CARE list was discontinued in February 2025.

A ResearchTech company built from India, for Indian researchers, is positioned to close that gap in a way generic international tools cannot. Researchers from institutions across India have already engaged with SAMVIK's guidance and research support work, and that same India-first approach is now being built directly into our AI tools — starting with TopicGen.

TopicGen addresses the very first stage of research: finding the right topic. But a PhD or research project does not end there, and neither does our roadmap.
